Project: Dentists Care – A Solidarity Smile Transforming Lives in Florida

The ToothTalk by Alex platform supports every volunteer initiative and social impact action, highlighting the power of dentistry to transform communities and inspire professionals to contribute to meaningful social change.
Since 1993, the Project: Dentists Care (PDC) has been an essential dental care network in Florida. Created by the Florida Dental Association (FDA) and supported by the Florida Dental Association Foundation, this nonprofit program was born with the mission of providing preventive and restorative dental care to those who need it most — especially low-income individuals who do not qualify for public assistance but still face serious challenges in accessing oral healthcare.
With local chapters across the state, all formally registered and tax-exempt, the PDC has already provided more than 92,000 treatments since its foundation, resulting in nearly $56 million in donated care. More than just numbers, these treatments represent restored smiles, renewed self-esteem, and transformed lives.
In addition to direct care, PDC also collects valuable data on pro bono and reduced-fee services. These records help demonstrate, in a concrete way, the impact of dentists, hygienists, and assistants who are committed to bringing oral health to underserved communities.
