My Path of Connection, Passion, and Purpose in Healthcare
From an early age, I understood that events are more than just gatherings — they are opportunities to connect people, share knowledge, and inspire real change. My passion for events began in 1994, when I started organizing cultural and entertainment events, university parties, and live shows in São Paulo. By 1998, I was fully dedicated to networking events, building environments that encouraged meaningful exchange and collective growth.
Seeking personal and professional growth, I traveled to Japan with a clear goal: to save enough money to invest in my projects back in Brazil. What was supposed to be a short stay turned into nearly a decade of transformation. Living in a culture that values education, discipline, and collective responsibility broadened my perspective on how much social impact one can generate through purposeful action.

Unexpectedly, my career gained momentum while I was there. While developing my skills in communication, an unexpected path opened in media: I was invited to appear on television, host the show "A Hora da Promoção" on IPCT (a Rede Globo affiliate), interview artists, and speak at various events for the Brazilian community. These experiences revealed to me how communication can be a powerful tool for social transformation.
Around 2010, I returned to Brazil to be closer to my family and invested in further education. I completed my undergraduate studies and earned a postgraduate degree in communication, which expanded my ability to lead with strategy and purpose.
It was at this stage that a long-standing passion resurfaced with strength and clarity: dentistry. I realized that my background in events, communication, and now health was beginning to converge toward a greater mission — contributing to people’s well-being in a meaningful, human-centered way.
I first dreamed about a career in dentistry around the age of 16, although formal training was always financially challenging. My professional journey truly began when I became a scholarship student at SENAC Tiradentes in São Paulo, in the Oral Health Technician program — an opportunity offered specifically to students from low-income backgrounds. This chance transformed my life and opened doors for my future in dentistry.
Remarkably, just two months into the course, I was hired by a dental clinic in São Paulo, beginning my professional experience. Later, in January 2018, I moved to Brasília, where I received another transformative opportunity to work at one of the city’s top dental implant clinics. These opportunities opened doors, allowed me to grow professionally, and consolidated my career in dentistry.
That is why volunteering has always been close to my heart. Although I felt this calling from early on, it was through practical experience that I witnessed the real impact of extending a helping hand without judgment — and how it can truly transform lives. Throughout this journey, I have always been guided by a commitment to quality, ethics, and empathy, especially in clinical procedures and surgical assistance.
Drawing on my background in event planning and communication, the dental clinics where I worked recognized my natural ability to organize and execute initiatives tailored to oral health promotion. I began developing projects that combined education, social impact, and patient care. Starting with small internal meetings, these initiatives gradually evolved into larger events requiring professional venues and more strategic planning.
During this journey, I created several impactful events in the dental field, including multiple editions of Coffee Break das Mulheres Super Poderosas and the Global Business Forum — all aimed at building bridges between professionals and raising awareness about oral health. In 2018 and 2019, my wife and I officially founded Apsivida Psicologia Integrada, where I applied everything I had learned to offer high-quality services in a warm, socially responsible environment. We implemented regular external audits to monitor the quality of care and embraced sustainability practices aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With this vision in mind, we launched multiple social impact projects such as “Todos Pela Vida”, offering free services in parks, squares, and bus stations across Brasília. We also promoted menstrual dignity campaigns, food distribution, and partnered with organizations — all while investing in the personal and emotional development of our internal team, including psychologists and collaborators.
In parallel, I strengthened my commitment to community engagement, participating in public health campaigns, supporting the arts, and appearing on TV Band Brasília to raise awareness about health, well-being, and social responsibility. I collaborated with institutions such as Sesc and the Sabin Group, further expanding the impact of our work.
As Apsivida grew, I developed the Apsivida Integrated System — a software solution designed to help small healthcare teams manage their clinics with greater efficiency, especially those with limited resources. This initiative was part of my broader vision to improve the healthcare system from the inside out.
To enhance my leadership and strategic skills, I completed an Executive MBA in Clinic and Hospital Management, which gave me the tools to understand healthcare as a complex, evolving ecosystem that requires both structure and humanity.
Today, in 2025, I have completed my training as a Dental Assistant in the United States — a crucial step that deepens my clinical skills and strengthens my ability to contribute to innovation and excellence in oral healthcare.
Every step of this journey has been built with dedication, continuous learning, and, above all, gratitude — to every person and institution that has trusted and walked alongside me.
I’ve accomplished a lot, lived unique experiences, created meaningful projects, and built bridges — yet I know I still have much to learn. I will always be evolving, exploring new frontiers, and striving to grow not only as a professional but also as a human being. I believe in the power of exchange: sharing what I’ve learned while listening and learning from others who have so much to teach.
It is with that spirit of collaboration and growth that this next chapter begins: ToothTalk by Alex, a platform built with care, designed to share experiences, strengthen connections, and continue inspiring change — in healthcare, education, leadership, and most importantly, in people.

I have been grateful for the opportunity to contribute in small ways to the dialogue between healthcare, education, and social impact. My publications reflect my interest in how volunteerism, cultural competence, and management practices can support both professional growth and more equitable healthcare.
