GENEVA, Switzerland – Have you ever thought about how your oral health can affect your mental well-being? This World Oral Health Day (March 20), the FDI World Dental Federation is highlighting that powerful connection with a brand-new song available on all major streaming platforms. The catchy anthem invites people worldwide to sing along while raising awareness about the strong link between oral health and mental health.
This year’s campaign continues the three-year theme “A happy mouth is …”. After focusing on the mouth–body connection in 2024, the spotlight in 2025 is on the mouth–mind connection, under the slogan: “A happy mouth is a happy mind.” The message is clear: taking care of your mouth not only prevents disease but also boosts confidence, self-esteem, and overall quality of life.
At the heart of the campaign is the lively new anthem, along with a video featuring Toothie, FDI’s beloved oral health mascot. The goal is to inspire individuals, communities, and policymakers to view oral health as essential to well-being.
“Oral health is a right, not a privilege,” emphasized FDI President Dr. Greg Chadwick.
Despite progress, millions worldwide still face barriers to affordable, quality dental care, leaving vulnerable populations at greater risk of preventable oral diseases. FDI continues to advocate for universal health coverage that includes oral health, and World Oral Health Day serves as a call for governments to take real action.

To strengthen its impact, FDI partners with organizations like Haleon, Dentsply Sirona, Solventum, and Smile Train, expanding outreach and promoting prevention globally.
This year also introduces a global call for stories: individuals and communities are invited to share how oral health has changed their lives. FDI partners have already started sharing their experiences, showing how healthier smiles can truly transform lives.
As Dr. Anna Lella, chair of the WOHD Working Group, explained:
“By amplifying real voices, we can inspire action and drive meaningful change.”
The key takeaway? A healthy smile does more than brighten your face—it strengthens your mind and improves your life. And now, that message comes with a tune the whole world can sing along to. 🎶
